GM’s X-frame chassis generated controversy when it first debuted. Forgoing the traditional perimeter-style steel frame, GM engineers inserted the frame structure inside the driveshaft tunnel, creating an unusual X-frame that allowed the vehicle to be lowered as much as four inches to accommodate the lower, sleeker style popular at the time. We have replacement parts for GM X-body styles produced from 1962 to 1979.
GM’s A-body rear-wheel drive platform was first unveiled in 1925. After being discontinued in 1959, it made its return in 1964. The angled main frame rails were the basis for many popular muscle cars of the 1960s, as well as mid-sized vehicles like the Chevrolet Chevelle, Buick Special, and Pontiac Tempest. Find A-body components for 1964 to 1967 model years here.
GM restyled its A-body chassis and suspension in 1968 to accommodate larger engines and longer wheelbases. We have a full stock of components for your 1968 – 1972 A-body frame including anti-roll bars, coil overs, shocks, and rear axle assemblies.
GM’s B-body full-size rear-wheel drive platform borrowed heavily from the manufacturer’s C and D platforms and is one of the best-selling automobile platforms in history. Originally developed for Oldsmobile and Buick, it was eventually used on all GM makes including the Chevrolet Bel Air, Impala, and Caprice; Pontiac Bonneville, Grand Ville, and Safari; Buick LeSabre and Roadmaster; and Cadillac Series 60, 61, and 63. Shop our selection of 1971 to 1996 B-body components.
For the fourth-generation F-body platform, GM simplified the engine choices available to Camaro and Firebird owners. This would prove to be the final iteration of the F-body chassis; it was phased out after 2002. We have a wide selection of components and kits for F-body cars manufactured during these years.
The G-body platform debuted in 1969 as a mid-sized GM chassis with a longer wheelbase and smooth ride. Popular for affordability and interchangeable parts, it includes Malibu, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Regal, Cutlass Supreme, and Grand Prix. Parts for 1978–1987.

GM’s S-10 was the first compact pickup manufactured by the Big Three automakers when it first hit the market in 1982. This top-seller would go through many variations before it was replaced by the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Isuzu i-Series in 2004. We have a variety of parts for the S-10 including brake kits, coilovers and shocks, and replacement front suspensions.

Video Recap: Installing Trick Chassis’s Ford 9-Inch Rear End
In his recent upload, Joe takes us through the installation of a Ford 9-inch rear end from Trick Chassis, a key component he picked up directly from our location in Wisconsin—saving on shipping costs. This rear end is not just any part; it’s a testament to forward-thinking and quality engineering. Here’s what Joe liked about our product:
Customizable Options: Joe opted for a back brace on the rear end assembly, considering future upgrades that might require additional strength. Although his current build isn’t pushing extreme horsepower, he’s set on being prepared for any upgrades.
Adjustable Link Bars: A standout feature is the adjustable link bars that come with the rear end. This addition allows precise adjustments to the suspension geometry, essential for achieving the perfect ride quality and handling.
Quality and Durability: Joe praises the heavy-duty construction of the components, noting that even though he chose standard options like 31 spline axles and Yukon 373 gears, the setup is built to last and handle significant stress.
Highlighting Trick Chassis’s Offerings
This particular rear end setup exemplifies the type of quality and attention to detail that Trick Chassis is known for. It includes:
