    GM’s X-frame chassis generated controversy when it first debuted. Forgoing the traditional perimeter-style steel frame, GM engineers inserted the frame structure inside the driveshaft tunnel, creating an unusual X-frame that allowed the vehicle to be lowered as much as four inches to accommodate the lower, sleeker style popular at the time. We have replacement parts for GM X-body styles produced from 1962 to 1979.

    GM’s A-body rear-wheel drive platform was first unveiled in 1925. After being discontinued in 1959, it made its return in 1964.
